This work is documentation of a number of experiments which have taken place as part of an investigation into interaction with familiar manufactured objects and space. The assorted techniques record interventions which have been made to both the objects and its context. The interventions and their documentation are intended to alter perceptions and objecthoods. The themes employed include those of science, alchemy and history. Public furniture is pushed into the unconscious of those who experience it. The relationship between memory and sensory perception is interrupted, reminding the audience of the existence of so called passive institutionalised structures. Through the appropriation of spaces and objects it is possible to re-evaluate their comprehension in everyday life, to discarding our blasé attitudes.
